The President's Bio

My Story

Garold Hamilton is a Senior Vice President and Healthcare Practice Lead at WSP, one of the nation’s largest engineering and infrastructure firms. He is a graduated from the University of the West Indies with an Upper Second-Class Honors degree and graduated from South Bank University in London with a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Distinction. He is a Healthcare Thought Leader and written over 30 articles in multiple healthcare and engineering publications. He is also a seasoned presenter and has presented nationally and internationally at several conferences and seminars. His work has been recognized with several design honors, including most recently the ASHRAE Technology 1st Place Award for Healthcare Engineering design for the Carilion Clinic Operating Room Renovation Project. In 2015 he was named 40 under 40 (best engineers in USA under 40) by the Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine for engineers who stands out in a variety of personal and professional aspects in their lives. He is a fellow at the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) and the American Hospital Association (AHA).

Personal Life

In 2006, he founded the IRS-approved 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization “Dreams to Reality Foundation (DTR Foundation),” a broad-based community initiative that assists low-income children to complete their education and achieve economic self-sufficiency through sports. The DTR Foundation helps children develop the self-esteem and self-worth to give them the building blocks for a positive life. He provides mentorship to children as part of the organization mission and is a regular speaker to students in the USA, UK and Jamaica. He is also an author of the inspirational book the Ghetto Youth’s Bible, which have sold over 3000 copies worldwide.
